Background on Sandstone
Sanstone is an award winning community designed with "The Livable Forest" as its theme. The community is tucked into the pine forests of Southwest Mississippi, located to the west of Hattiesburg. Sandstone sits on about 200 acres of land parceled into about 117 lots, many of which of are over an acre. There are several identifiable communities within Sandstone. Larger 3 acre lots in phase I, and smaller 1/2 to 1 acre lots in phase II; in this phase there are about 26 lots in the Glades which are reserved for development in an architectural style reminiscent of the turn of the century homes found in the historic district of Hattiesburg.
Over one third of the land at Sandstone, about 70 acres, is being conserved
through a public trust.
These greenways serve as a corridor for humans, plants and wildlife to move
through the longleaf forest.
