Sandstone is located about 10 miles to the west of the University of Southern Mississippi, or about 8 miles west of the US-98.I-58 junction.

Traveling from Hattiesburg, go west on Hardy Street (US-98) crossing over I-59, and continuing west until reaching the intersection of State Road 589 with US-98 (there is a traffic light at this intersection and a Pure Service station on the right side of the intersection). Turn right at this intersection, going north toward Sumrall. Sandstone is about 1-1/2 miles north along 589, on the right hand side.
